Were you aware?

April is National Math Awareness Month. That’s right, somone was afraid that people were not aware of math. Perhaps the creator was going on stroll, when he stopped to talk to some one.

“How ’bout that math! Sure is great isn’t it!”

“What is this math you speak of? I am not aware of it!”

“Oh dear! Perhaps I should dedicate a month to making sure people are aware that there is this thing called math”

Eventually, the man’s plan succeded. Schools started teaching math. People started using math. Before, when people wanted to know how many of something they had, they just had to guess. But after becoming aware of math, they could count thier things! Well, we all know about math, so call of the stupid month about it. This goes for cancer, turberculosis, blindness, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, mental retardation, sexual assault, caffeine, kidney disease, Nova Scotia, glaucoma, domestic violence, daffodils, menopause, adoption, motorcycles, vegitarians, asian americans, and the sun. These are all things that have a real month or week dedicated to being aware of them. Even if you didnt know about them before, you do now.

Also, radon, hispanic americans, sinus pain, breastfeeding, children, humpback whales, manatees, trauma ,floods, disabilities, prematurity, electric choice, chronic pain, low vision, natural resourses, pecans, welding, alchohol, and vd have awareness months.

Now are you AWARE that you just called off all awareness of things while passing on the awareness of them at the same time? Well done, friend, well done.

@(-_o)@ You are officially an oxy moron.

I have no problem with people being aware of these things, in fact, for most of them it is important that they are aware of them. However, the idea that we need to dedicate a month to making people aware of the sun is just rediculous, and the time could be spent much better elsewhere.
