Vote, or P Diddy will kill you

I recently had to write a paper for my Political Science class about why voter turnout rates are so low in America. On average, only about 55% of eligible adults vote in presidential elections and 35% vote in non-presidential elections, like the one coming up this year. I went over some of the reasons why people don’t vote, and one of them is that people feel that their vote doesn’t count.

Over in a small town in Ohio, a man is running for a seat on the Erie County Democratic Party. The primaries were just held, and the result was a tie. Both candidates had 47 votes. The man would have won, but two people didn’t think that their vote would make a difference. Those two people just happened to be his sons. And its not as though the sons didn’t know either, one lived at home and the other lived just across the street.

So if you aren’t registered yet, you have until tomorrow if you want to vote in the Nebraska primaries. It’s too late to do it by mail, so you’ll have to go down to the election office. Remember, if you don’t vote, P Diddy will kill you.
